Preparation Instructions:
Evan from Orem Utah recently forwarded my web staff this tasty and unique corn syrup kettle corn recipe. For step one, please take out a thick pot or kettle that has a nonstick lining within in. Be advised that if you don't have a nonstick lined pot, that it's likely that you will burn the sugar. Moving along, once you have a pot, pour your Planters peanut oil into it, and then heat the oil over medium high. When your oil starts to shimmer, carefully pour in the black hills popcorn kernels, or any type of kernels that you prefer. You will also want to pour in the Karo light corn syrup at this time. Stir the kernels around in the hot oil and syrup, then place a lid over the pot. For the next step you will want to place oven mitts over your hands. Begin shaking the pot, however do keep the bottom of the pot touching the burner. This next part of the preparation process can be tough, so stay sharp. After about one cup of popcorn pops into your lid covered pot, quickly and evenly pour in the white sugar and fine ground sea salt, any brands will do. Then quickly place the lid back on to it and continue to shake it rather briskly. When your kettle corn popping slows to one pop every single second, then it is time to remove the pot from the stove or burner. Do however continue shaking the pot while the kettle corn cools. For the long awaited last step, pour the fresh made kettle corn into a gigantic wooden snack bowl. Eat the kettle corn hot while it's sticky sweet.
